Audit log in Easedesk — track every change

Easedesk records every action with user, IP, timestamp and resource. How to view, filter and export the audit log.

Quick answer

Settings → Audit Log shows every action across your workspace — create, edit, delete, approve, login. Filter by user, module, date range or risk level. Export to CSV for statutory audits. Logs are retained for the life of your workspace and cannot be deleted.

What gets logged

Every API write (create/edit/delete), every login, every permission change, every billing action, and every export. Read actions are not logged for noise reasons (configurable on Enterprise plans).

Filtering

Filter by user, module, action, date range, IP, or risk level (low / medium / high). The high-risk filter shows sensitive actions like permission grants, billing changes, and exports.

Exporting

Click Export → choose format (CSV / JSON). Each row includes: timestamp (Asia/Kolkata), user, IP, module, action, resource ID, before/after snapshot (for edits).

Retention

Logs are retained for the lifetime of your workspace. Cannot be deleted by any user — including the Owner — for audit integrity.

Frequently asked questions

Can I see what someone changed in an invoice?
Yes — the audit log entry includes the before/after JSON snapshot for edits.
Can I be alerted on high-risk actions?
Yes — Settings → Audit → Alerts. Configure email/webhook for actions like 'permission granted', 'large export', 'role deleted'.
Why is read activity not logged?
Volume would dwarf write activity. Enterprise plans can enable read logging for specific modules if required by your auditor.
