Days Sales Outstanding

DSO

Average number of days a business takes to collect payment after a sale — lower is better for working capital.

What it means

DSO = (Accounts Receivable / Total Credit Sales) × Number of Days. Tracked monthly. High DSO signals collection problems, weak credit policy, or overly generous payment terms.
