Track opportunities in your sales pipeline
Add each possible deal under Opportunities with its company, value and next step. Move it through New, Qualified and Nurturing to Won or Lost. A next step with a date becomes a task for the owner, and an invoice issued for the opportunity marks it won.
In EaseDesk: Opportunities → New opportunity. Log in or start a free trial.
Steps
- 1 Open Opportunities and click New opportunity.
- 2 Search for the company, or click Add it as a new lead and enter the company name, contact person, mobile and city.
- 3 Name the Opportunity, and fill in the Stage, Came from, Value (₹), Expected to close and Owner.
- 4 Enter the Next step and the date By which it should happen.
- 5 Click Add opportunity. The next step appears as a task for the owner.
- 6 As the deal moves, click the stage buttons on the opportunity. Click Make quotation when the customer asks for a price.
From opportunity to invoice
On an opportunity, Record enquiry starts an enquiry for the company and Make quotation starts a quotation, both linked to the opportunity. Convert the quotation into an order or invoice as usual. When an invoice is issued for an opportunity that is still open, EaseDesk moves it to Won for you, so your pipeline stays accurate without extra clicks.
Never miss a follow-up
The next step with its date is added to the owner’s Tasks, so it shows in their task list with everything else they need to do. The opportunity page also lists the enquiries and quotations made for it, with its tasks and attachments.
Stages
- New: first contact, not yet assessed.
- Qualified: a real need, budget and a person who decides.
- Nurturing: interested but not ready; keep in touch.
- Won or Lost: the outcome.
The Opportunities report under Reports summarises your pipeline. Learn more on the CRM page.
Who can do it
Everyone with the built-in Staff role can view opportunities. Adding and moving them needs a role that can manage opportunities, such as the Owner, an Admin or a custom sales role. Making a quotation from one also needs permission to create sales documents.
Questions
What is the difference between a lead and an opportunity?
A lead is a company or person you have not sold to yet, kept in your Directory. An opportunity is one possible deal with a lead or an existing customer, with a value and a stage. One customer can have several opportunities.
What happens when I mark an opportunity as lost?
EaseDesk asks why it was lost. The reasons help you see what to change, and the opportunity stays on record under the Lost stage.
Can I see all opportunities at a glance?
Yes. The Board view shows them in columns by stage, and the List view shows them in a table. Search by opportunity or company, and tick Archived to see ones you have put away.
