Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on Easedesk

Add an extra layer of security to your Easedesk account with TOTP-based 2FA using Google Authenticator, Authy or Microsoft Authenticator.

Quick answer

Open Settings → Security → Two-Factor Authentication → Enable. Scan the QR with your authenticator app, enter the 6-digit code to confirm, and download your 10 backup codes. Every future login asks for the 6-digit code after your password.

Step 1 — Pick an authenticator app

We recommend Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, or 1Password. They generate the rotating 6-digit codes.

Step 2 — Enable in Settings

Settings (gear icon) → Security → Two-Factor Authentication → Enable. A QR code appears.

Step 3 — Scan + confirm

Open your authenticator app → Add Account → Scan QR. Enter the 6-digit code shown in the app back in Easedesk to confirm.

Step 4 — Save backup codes

You'll get 10 single-use backup codes. Download as PDF or copy to a password manager. These let you log in if you lose your phone.

Future logins

After your password, Easedesk asks for the current 6-digit code from your authenticator app. Codes refresh every 30 seconds.

Frequently asked questions

What if I lose my phone?
Use one of your 10 backup codes to log in. Then disable + re-enable 2FA from Settings to get fresh codes on the new device.
What if I lose backup codes too?
Contact support via your registered email. We verify identity and reset 2FA — can take 1-2 business days.
Can I force 2FA for all users?
Yes — Owners can enable 'Require 2FA' under Settings → Security. Users without 2FA will be prompted on next login.
Does 2FA work for SSO users?
If you use Google or Microsoft SSO, 2FA is handled by them. Easedesk respects whatever they enforce.
