Apply the Manufacturing industry pack at signup → it enables Production, QC, Maintenance + adds Production Supervisor and QC Inspector roles. Set up raw-material → WIP → finished-goods warehouses, define BOMs per finished product, then run work orders that consume materials and produce stock automatically.

Step 1 — Apply the Manufacturing pack

At signup pick 'Manufacturing', or later: Settings → Industry Packs → Manufacturing → Apply. This enables QC, BOM, Work Orders, Maintenance, and adds Production Supervisor + QC Inspector roles.

Step 2 — Set up warehouses

Inventory → Warehouses → create three: Raw Materials, WIP (Work In Progress), Finished Goods. Optionally a 4th for Scrap/Rejection.

Step 3 — Build the product catalog

Inventory → Products → add raw materials AND finished products. Set HSN code, GST rate, unit (kg/nos/m) and reorder levels.

Step 4 — Define BOMs

Manufacturing → BOM → New BOM for each finished product. Add component products with quantity per unit produced. Versioned — you can have BOM 1.0.0 active while drafting 2.0.0.

Step 5 — Run a work order

Manufacturing → Work Orders → New. Pick the finished product + quantity. Easedesk reserves materials from Raw warehouse, creates a Work Order, and tracks production. On completion, finished goods go to FG warehouse + materials are consumed.

Step 6 — Quality control

QC → Inspections → New on the Work Order. Use the pre-defined inspection template, mark pass/fail. Failed batches generate NCR (Non-Conformance Report) which feeds into CAPA tracking.

Step 7 — Cost tracking

Each completed work order auto-posts a journal entry: DR Finished Goods, CR Raw Materials + DR Direct Wages + DR Overheads. Your monthly P&L reflects accurate COGS without manual adjustments.

Can I do multi-level BOMs (sub-assemblies)?

Yes — a BOM component can itself be a manufactured product with its own BOM. Work orders explode multi-level BOMs to source materials.

Does Easedesk handle job-work?

Yes — apply the Job-work addon pack. Tracks materials sent to job-workers, receipt of finished components, and GST-compliant job-work invoices.

Can I trace serial numbers through production?

Yes — enable serial tracking on the product. Each unit's serial is captured at production and traceable through dispatch + warranty.
