The Easedesk AI Assistant (violet brain icon in the navbar) is context-aware — it knows your tenant data and can answer questions, run reports, or walk you through workflows.

Quick answer

Click the violet brain icon (top navbar) to open the AI Assistant panel. Ask in plain English: 'show me overdue invoices', 'how do I file GSTR-3B?', 'why is the sales report blank?'. It uses your actual tenant data + Easedesk's documentation, and never sends your data to external models for training.

Opening the assistant

Click the violet brain icon in the top navbar. Or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + A. The panel slides in from the right.

What you can ask

  • Data queries: 'show me top 5 customers by revenue this quarter'
  • How-to: 'how do I generate an e-invoice?'
  • Troubleshooting: 'why can't I see my new invoice?'
  • Workflows: 'help me close the books for March'
  • Comparisons: 'compare this month vs last month sales'
  • Reminders: 'remind me to file GSTR-3B on the 18th'

How it works

The assistant uses Claude (Anthropic) under the hood, with your tenant data fetched at query time via secure read-only API calls. It has access only to YOUR tenant — never other businesses' data.

Your queries are NOT used to train any model. Conversations are stored for 30 days for debugging, then deleted automatically.

Permissions

The assistant respects RBAC — if your role can't see payroll, the assistant can't answer payroll questions either. Department scope is also honoured.

Frequently asked questions

Does the AI ever take actions on my behalf?
Currently read-only — it answers questions and generates reports. Write actions (e.g. 'create an invoice for X') require explicit confirmation and are gated behind a feature flag on Pro plans.
What does it cost?
Included free on all paid plans, with a fair-use limit (~500 queries per user per month). Higher tiers on Enterprise.
Can I see my conversation history?
Yes — top of the assistant panel → History. Searchable across past 30 days.
What if it gives a wrong answer?
Every response has a thumbs-up/down. Negative feedback goes to our training pipeline (anonymised). For factual errors about your data, hit the 'Verify' button — it re-queries the source and shows the SQL/API call.
