Quick answer

To create a attendance record, open Attendance from the sidebar, click "New Attendance record", fill in the required fields, and save. The new record is immediately searchable and triggers any linked downstream automations (e.g. accounting posts, notifications, approvals).

Step 1 — Open the Attendance module

In the left sidebar, click Attendance. If you don't see it, your role may not have attendance.view permission — ask your Owner or Admin to grant it under Settings → Users & Roles.

Step 2 — Click "New Attendance record"

The list view shows all existing attendance records. Click the New Attendance record button at the top-right. You will be taken to a clean form page with all available fields visible (we never hide important fields behind tabs).

Step 3 — Fill in required fields

Required fields are marked with a red asterisk. Tooltip help is available on every label — hover over a field to see what it does. Optional fields can be left blank and added later.

Step 4 — Save (or "Save & Add Another" for bulk entry)

Click Save to create the attendance record. If you want to add several in a row, the "Save & Add Another" button resets the form while keeping the page open. The new record appears at the top of the list view.

What happens after

Creating a attendance record may trigger downstream automations depending on the module — for example, posting a journal entry, sending an email, or starting an approval workflow. You can see all triggered actions in the Audit Log.

Editing or deleting a attendance record

Click the attendance record row in the list view to open detail mode. The Edit button is at the top-right. To delete, use the kebab menu (•••). Note: records linked to other entities (e.g. an invoice that has a payment) cannot be deleted — they can be cancelled or voided instead.

Frequently asked questions

How do I create a attendance record in Easedesk?
Open Attendance from the sidebar, click "New Attendance record", fill the required fields, and click Save.
Can I import attendance records from a spreadsheet?
Yes. Most modules support CSV import. Look for the Import button on the list page. A downloadable sample CSV is provided so you can match the column format exactly.
Why is my "New Attendance record" button disabled?
Your role likely doesn't include the attendance.create permission. Ask your Owner or Admin to grant it under Settings → Users & Roles.
Can I edit a attendance record after creating it?
Yes — click the row in the list view, then Edit. All changes are recorded in the audit log. If the attendance record has been used downstream (e.g. an invoice that has been paid), only certain fields can be edited.
What happens if I delete a attendance record?
Hard-delete is restricted for records linked to other modules. In those cases, the system will offer to cancel or void the attendance record instead so downstream history is preserved.
