Form 16

Annual TDS certificate issued by an employer to an employee, summarising salary and tax deducted in a financial year.

What it means

Form 16 has two parts: Part A (auto-generated from TRACES, showing TDS deposited) and Part B (prepared by the employer, showing salary breakup, exemptions, deductions and final tax liability). Form 16 is the primary document an employee uses to file their income tax return.

Must be issued to every employee from whom TDS was deducted, by 15 June following the financial year.

How Easedesk handles Form 16
