E-Way Bill
Electronic document required for the movement of goods of value above ₹50,000 between locations under GST.
What it means
An e-way bill is generated on the e-way bill portal (ewaybill.nic.in) before goods worth more than ₹50,000 (with some state-specific thresholds) are moved. Part-A contains invoice details; Part-B contains transport details (vehicle number, mode). The e-way bill has a validity based on distance — typically one day per 200 km.
Non-generation can attract penalty equal to the tax amount or ₹10,000, whichever is higher.
How Easedesk handles E-Way Bill
Easedesk auto-generates Part-A from the sales invoice and lets the warehouse/dispatch team complete Part-B with vehicle and driver details. Bulk e-way bill generation and expiry alerts are built in.
