# Take online payments with Razorpay

> Connect your own Razorpay account under Settings → Organisation → Payments with your key, key secret and webhook secret. Customers can then pay your invoices by UPI, card or net banking from the invoice link, and EaseDesk records each payment as a receipt against the invoice.

In EaseDesk: Settings → Organisation → Payments

## Steps

1. In the Razorpay Dashboard, open Account & Settings → API keys and generate a key.
2. In EaseDesk, open Settings → Organisation, go to the Payments tab and copy the Webhook URL.
3. In Razorpay, under Webhooks, add that URL with the events payment_link.paid, payment_link.cancelled and payment_link.expired, and choose a secret.
4. Back in EaseDesk, enter the Key ID, Key secret and Webhook secret, and choose the bank account under Razorpay pays into.
5. Switch on Offer online payment on invoices and click Save.
6. Open an issued invoice, click Share and then Create a payment link, and send the link to your customer.

## What your customer sees

The invoice's share link opens a page with the PDF, the amount due, the UPI QR code and a **Pay
online (card, net banking, UPI)** button. Emails you send from EaseDesk carry the pay online button
too. The customer does not need an EaseDesk account. Sent a link to the wrong person? Click
**Share**, then **Withdraw earlier links**: every link made until then stops opening, and the
dialog gives you a new one.

## What happens when they pay

When Razorpay confirms the payment, EaseDesk records a receipt against the invoice by itself, so the
invoice shows as paid and the customer's ledger is up to date. Razorpay's fee is posted to **Bank
Charges**, and the GST on it goes to your input tax credit (and GSTR-3B) when the branch has a GSTIN. You still see every receipt under **Receipts**, and the payment reaches your bank on
Razorpay's settlement schedule, where you can match it in
[bank reconciliation](/help/finance/bank-reconciliation).

## Who can set it up

The Owner and Admins, as it is an organisation setting. The key secret and webhook secret are stored
encrypted; the screen shows only that they are saved. To change a key, enter the new one and save;
leave a secret blank to keep the saved one.

## If payments are not recorded

Check that the webhook in Razorpay uses the exact URL from the Payments tab, has the three
payment_link events ticked, and that the webhook secret in both places is the same. If the problem

## Questions

### Does the money go through EaseDesk?

No. It goes to your own Razorpay account and from there to the bank account you choose. EaseDesk only creates the payment link and records the payment in your books.

### Can I try it before going live?

Yes. Enter Razorpay test keys (they start with rzp_test_). EaseDesk shows Test mode until you save your live keys.

### I do not want to use Razorpay. Can customers still pay online?

Yes, by UPI. Every invoice carries a UPI QR code for the amount due when a bank account has a UPI ID and is marked Show on invoices. You record the receipt when the money arrives.
