# Your dashboard

> The dashboard is the first screen after you log in. It shows your sales, collections, what customers owe you, what you owe vendors, cash and bank, and profit for the year, with GST due, stock and your tasks. Click any figure to open the report behind it.

In EaseDesk: Dashboard

## Steps

1. Log in. The dashboard opens with a greeting, your organisation's name and today's date.
2. Choose the period at the top: Month, Quarter or the financial year (FY). The dashboard opens on the financial year.
3. If you have more than one branch, pick a branch to narrow sales and collections to it.
4. Read the tiles. Sales and Collected also show the change against the same days of the previous period.
5. Click a tile, such as Customers owe you, to open the report behind it.
6. Use the menu on the left, your Favourites, Go to… (Ctrl K) or Search everything (press /) to jump to any screen or record.
7. Bigger parts of EaseDesk open as workspaces in a new tab, with their own menu (CRM & projects, Manufacturing & stock, Accounts & GST, HR & payroll, and the counter). Back to EaseDesk closes that tab and returns you here.

## What is on it

- **Tiles:** Sales (before GST, less credit notes), Collected, Customers owe you (with the overdue
part), You owe vendors, Cash and bank, and Profit or Loss this year so far.
- **Opening balances:** if they do not balance, a note above the tiles says by how much, with a
link to enter the rest. The year cannot be closed until they balance.
- **Sales and collections:** a 12-month chart. Hover over or tap a month for its figures.
- **Who owes you:** dues by how late they are, and the three customers who owe the most.
- **Top customers**, **Cash and bank** (each account's balance) and **Bills to pay** (including
bills due in the next 7 days).
- **GST:** for the month whose returns fall due next, the tax on sales, input tax credit and tax to
pay in cash for each GSTIN, with the GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B due dates and whether they are filed.
- **Stock:** stock value, items below their reorder level and batches expiring in the next 30 days.
- **Opportunities:** your open pipeline by stage, and **My tasks**.

The period and branch you choose are remembered on that device and kept in the page address, so you
can share the same view.

## While you are setting up

Until your setup is complete, a **Finish setting up** card shows how many steps are done. Click
**Finish setup** to see the steps left. An empty section tells you what to do next rather than
showing a blank chart.

## Around the dashboard

The menu on the left groups every screen: Overview, Sales, Purchases, Stock, Masters, Accounts and
Settings, with your own **Favourites** near the top. The search box in the top bar finds any customer,
item, document or payment (see [Search everything and keep Favourites](/help/getting-started/search-and-favourites)).
The organisation name at the top of the menu switches between organisations. Your name at the bottom
opens **Account** and **Log out**. Banners at the top show your trial days, a renewal that is due or
an email to verify.

## Questions

### Why do I see fewer sections than the Owner?

The dashboard follows your role. A section appears only if your role can see the report behind it, so a counter clerk does not see cash, profit or dues.

### Does the branch filter change every figure?

No. It narrows sales, collections, the monthly chart and top customers. Balances such as receivables, payables, cash, stock and GST are for the whole organisation.

### Do the dashboard figures match the reports?

Yes. Each figure comes from the same calculation as its report, so the tile and the report never disagree.
