## How they differ

These two products are not really alternatives today. They sit on either side of your business.

**greytHR** is HR and payroll software. According to its website, it covers recruitment, onboarding, payroll, attendance, leave, performance, expense claims and exit. It works out PF, ESI, professional tax, LWF and TDS on salary, takes attendance from biometric devices, GPS or face recognition, and gives employees a self-service mobile app for payslips, leave balances, claims, Form 16 and tax declarations.

**EaseDesk** runs the money side of your business: GST invoices and e-invoices, e-way bills, collections with automatic reminders, purchases, stock across warehouses, manufacturing and accounting. GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and GSTR-2B reconciliation are prepared from the same records.

EaseDesk's [HR and payroll module](/solutions/payroll) is coming soon. It is planned to cover employee records, attendance and leave from web and mobile, monthly payroll with salary structures, advances and loans, PF with the ECR file, ESI, professional tax, LWF and TDS on salary, payslips and a bank transfer file, and expense claims with approvals. None of this is available yet, so if you need to run payroll this month, greytHR is the better choice.

## Using them together

Most businesses with a payroll to run will use both:

1. Run attendance, leave and payroll in greytHR.
2. Each month, record the salary cost, the deductions (PF, ESI, professional tax and TDS) and the net pay as a journal voucher in EaseDesk.
3. Pay salaries from your bank and record the payment against the same ledgers.
4. Your CA then sees the full cost of your staff in EaseDesk's profit and loss and balance sheet.

This keeps each product doing what it does well, and your books complete.

## Moving from one to the other

There is nothing to move between them today, because they hold different data. When EaseDesk's payroll module is available, you will be able to compare it with greytHR for your team and decide whether to bring payroll into the same system as your billing and accounts.

### Can I use EaseDesk and greytHR together?

### Will EaseDesk replace greytHR when payroll arrives?
