## How they differ

BUSY is accounting software that grew up on the desktop. Its site lists BUSY Desktop, a cloud version called BUSY Online for remote access and a mobile app, with GST invoicing, e-way bills, e-invoicing, reconciliation of GSTR-1, 2A, 2B and 3B, warehouse management and multi-branch management in particular editions. It names more than twenty industries it is configured for.

EaseDesk is online from the start. There is nothing to install: you sign in from a browser, and your billing desk, your warehouse, your branches and your CA all work on one set of books. It is built around the daily work of an SME, from quotation and invoice to collection, purchase, stock and GST return, with the accounts posted as you go.

The practical differences you will notice:

- **Where your data lives.** With BUSY Desktop it is on your computer, and backups are yours to keep. With EaseDesk it is online, backed up every night in encrypted form, with a restore tested every week.
- **Collections.** EaseDesk sends reminders before and after the due date in your own words, and every invoice carries a UPI QR code and payment link.
- **Who can do what.** In EaseDesk each person has a login and a role, two-step sign-in can be required for everyone, and the audit trail shows every change.
- **Editions.** BUSY has several editions with different features. EaseDesk has one plan with every feature available today.

## Moving from one to the other

**From BUSY to EaseDesk.** Take your customer, vendor and item lists and your opening balances into Excel and import them into EaseDesk. Choose a clean switch date, such as 1 April or the first day of a month after a return is filed, and keep BUSY for looking up earlier years.

**From EaseDesk to BUSY.** Any list or report in EaseDesk exports to Excel at any time, even if your plan has lapsed.

Some businesses bill and collect in EaseDesk while the accountant finalises the year elsewhere. Speak to your accountant before you decide how to split the work.
