## Zoho: a family of online apps

[Zoho Books](/compare/easedesk-vs-zoho) is online accounting software with GST invoices, e-invoices, e-way bills and returns filed from the software, mobile apps for Android and iOS, a Windows app, customer and vendor portals and project time billing. Stock, CRM, payroll and expenses are separate Zoho products that integrate with it, and it offers a free plan for very small businesses.

**Choose Zoho if** you want mobile apps and customer portals today, you already use other Zoho apps, or you are small enough for its free plan.

**Think again if** you want stock with batches, counter billing, manufacturing and accounts in one product with one subscription.

## Odoo: an ERP you shape yourself

[Odoo](/compare/easedesk-vs-odoo) is an open-source ERP and CRM with apps for almost every department: accounting, inventory, manufacturing, quality, website, eCommerce, HR, payroll, marketing, helpdesk and more. It has a free Community edition and a paid Enterprise edition, runs online or on your own servers, and can be customised with Odoo Studio or code. Its Indian localisation documents e-invoice, e-way bill and GST returns, connected with API credentials from the government portals.

**Choose Odoo if** you want one platform for the whole company, built around your own processes, and you have a partner or developers to implement and maintain it.

**Think again if** you want to be billing this week without a project, or nobody in your business will own the system.

## SAP Business One: ERP with a partner

[SAP Business One](/compare/easedesk-vs-sap-business-one) is an ERP for small and midsize businesses in many countries. It covers financials, sales, purchasing, inventory and production with MRP planning, runs on your own servers or in the cloud, and is deployed and customised by a local SAP partner, with an India localisation for GST, e-invoicing and e-way bills.

**Choose SAP Business One if** you need material requirements planning, operate in several countries, or want software extended to fit complex processes.

**Think again if** you want a published price, no implementation project and a system your own team can run.

## EaseDesk: ready for an Indian SME on day one

EaseDesk is online software made only for Indian businesses. Billing, collections, purchases, stock across warehouses, manufacturing, GST returns, double-entry accounts and CRM are one product with one plan. You sign up, add your GSTIN and issue a GST invoice the same day. Reminders go out with a UPI QR code and payment link, the e-invoice and e-way bill files are prepared from the invoice, purchase bills are matched with GSTR-2B, and your CA reads the same books on a free login.

**Choose EaseDesk if** your priorities are getting paid on time, GST without last-minute work, stock you can trust and clean books, without an implementation.

**Think again if** you need payroll, HR or project timesheets today (they are coming soon), an offline desktop program, or software customised with code.

## How to decide

1. **Write down the three problems that cost you most.** For most Indian SMEs they are outstanding dues, GST month-end and stock that does not match.
2. **Ask how long until the first real invoice.** Hours, weeks or months is the clearest difference between these four.
3. **Add up the whole yearly cost.** Count every user, every separate app, implementation, customisation and hosting.
4. **Check your way out.** You should be able to export every list and report to Excel whenever you wish.
5. **Run a real week.** Use a trial with your own customers, items and a purchase bill, and show the reports to your CA.

If that week shows you need a customised platform, an ERP project is the right step. If it shows that your dues, GST and stock are under control, you have found what you need. [Start a free trial of EaseDesk](/pricing) for 14 days with up to 5 users, without a card.

## Questions

### Which ERP is best for a small business in India?

The one that solves the problems you have now without a long project. If your daily work is GST invoices, collecting dues, stock and returns, choose software where those work on the first day, such as EaseDesk. If you need every department in one customised platform, or planned production across plants and countries, look at Odoo or SAP Business One with a partner.

### Is EaseDesk an ERP?

EaseDesk covers what an Indian SME expects of an ERP: sales, purchases, stock across warehouses, manufacturing, GST, double-entry accounts and CRM in one system, with roles and an audit trail. It is not a platform you customise with code, and payroll, HR and projects are coming soon.

### How is EaseDesk different from Zoho, Odoo and SAP?

EaseDesk is one product with one plan, made only for Indian businesses, and you start by signing up online. Zoho spreads the work across several products that integrate. Odoo and SAP Business One are ERP platforms that are configured, and usually implemented, for each business.

### Do I need an implementation partner?

For EaseDesk, no. You sign up, add your GSTIN and bill the same day. For SAP Business One, yes: it is deployed with a local SAP partner. For Odoo, smaller companies can buy success packs from Odoo, and larger ones usually work with a partner. Zoho Books can be started online by yourself.

### What should I check before I choose?

The time and cost to go live, whether Indian GST works without configuration, the yearly price for your whole team including your CA, whether you can export all your data, and who will look after the system after it is live.
